With a Servant’s Heart: Empowering Youth at Our First Annual Football Camp!

August 26, 20255 min read

On July 19, 2025, our community came together for something truly special, the First Annual Youth Football Camp hosted by Wise Protective Services & More, Inc. It was more than just a day on the field; it was a celebration of youth, community, and the power of a servant’s heart. "Months of planning turned into a day of joy and giving back." -Akilah Wise, President.

The field was filled with energy, smiles, and determination as young athletes came together excited to learn, grow, and have fun. Surrounded by supportive families, friends, staff, volunteers, and an incredible team of coaches who generously gave their time and talents, the day reflected the heart of our mission. It wasn’t just about football, it was about promoting active play, healthy habits, and the importance of sports as part of lifelong wellness.

A Day of Empowerment, Creativity, Literacy, and Service

Our mission has always been rooted in empowerment, creativity, literacy, and service, and this camp reflected those values in every moment on the field:

❤️ Empowerment – Each drill and activity reminded our young athletes that they are capable of more than they realize. The coaches encouraged them to push past limitations, build confidence, and carry that belief into every area of life.

❤️ Creativity – Football is more than physical skill; it’s about thinking strategically. Through teamwork and problem-solving exercises, the kids learned how creativity plays a role in both sports and everyday challenges.

❤️ Literacy – We define literacy as more than learning, it’s about focus, discipline, and gaining knowledge. Every huddle, instruction, and play taught our athletes to listen, learn, and apply lessons in real time, skills that can serve beyond the field.

❤️ Serving Others – Above all, this camp was about service. Coaches, volunteers, families, and community members came together with one goal: to create an unforgettable experience for our youth, built on generosity and a servant’s heart.

Special Guests and Community Support

We were honored to welcome Supervisor Sylvia Glass (Broad Run District), whose presence reminded us how important it is for leaders to invest in the next generation. Her support represented the importance of community driven initiatives and the positive impact they can have on youth and families across Loudoun County.

A huge thank you goes to Lemar Marshall, former Washington Redskins NFL player, and founder of Junior Draft Picks nonprofit, whose dedication to mentoring young athletes and supporting children with special needs added immeasurable value to the camp. He hand picked a group of outstanding coaches to support him. Their expertise, passion, and mentorship elevated the experience, making the day unforgettable for every child who attended. The lessons they shared extended beyond football, teaching discipline, resilience, and the value of teamwork.

We are also grateful to The nZone, whose facility provided the perfect space to host this milestone event. Their partnership created a safe, welcoming, and energetic environment where families could gather, children could thrive, and memories could be made.

And to Axcess Studios, thank you for capturing the spirit of the day through photos and video. Your work captured the energy, excitement, and joy of our camp. Your team brought our vision to light and we can now enjoy these moments for life.

Gratitude to Our Sponsors, Volunteers, and Staff

This camp would not have been possible without our corporate sponsors, community partners, volunteers, and staff. Your generosity, time, and dedication created opportunities, memories, and inspiration for our youth that will last a lifetime. We were able to provide camp shirts, backpacks, boxed lunches, free meal certificates, snacks, gatorade, and water to all athletes who attended.

We are especially grateful to Wegmans and Raising Cane’s for their generous support of our camp. Their contributions went far beyond simple sponsorship, they helped create an environment where every child felt cared for and valued. The kindness of these businesses made a tangible difference. From the box lunches that were provided and the certificates for free meals, they are not just sponsors, they become partners in shaping healthier, stronger, and more confident futures for our children.

Looking Forward

Our hearts are full and our vision is stronger than ever. We are committed to making next year’s camp even bigger and better, with more resources, more opportunities, and an even greater reach. With the continued support of our community, local leaders, and corporate sponsors, we will expand this program so more children can benefit from the lessons learned both on and off the field.

Our commitment to serving Loudoun County runs deep. This camp is only the beginning of a long term investment in the health, education, and growth of our community’s youth. We plan to host additional football camps and youth sports clinics, while also integrating literacy, nutrition, and leadership programming into everything we do. This is not just about building athletes, it’s about building champions for life. We hope you chose to continue to follow our impact and journey.
